John has experience representing the underdogs, litigating in court and winning at trial.

As a Senior Deputy Public Defender with the Colorado Public Defender’s office, John tried more than three dozen jury trials and litigated hundreds of hearings, winning dozens of trials. His case results include complete acquittal in a justifiable (self-defense) homicide, a reckless manslaughter verdict instead of first-degree murder, and an outright dismissal of another first-degree murder case before trial.

John is now home in the Pacific Northwest. With the Snohomish County Public Defender Association, John defended clients charged with every level of felony. He won righteous dismissals at trial – including challenging charges like failure to register and rape –and not guilty verdicts in felony assaults and in two first-degree murder trials. Even in the most challenging circumstances, John allowed judges and juries to see the full picture.
